Water Reuse
We need your opinion
Did you know that in the EU and the UK approximately 51.9 million people are currently being affected by water scarcity? According to the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Commission’s science and knowledge centre, this number will drastically increase as a result of climate change. Even if we reach the goal of keeping the global warming level below 1.5°C, the number of people exposed to water scarcity could rise by 7.4 million (+14%). If we fail to stop climate change and the global warming level reaches 3°C, the number of people affected will increase by more than twice as much in relation to the 1.5°C aim.
These numbers show the magnitude of the problem and the need to take actions. One way to reduce water scarcity is by reusing water. Therefore, the EU has recently adopted a regulation on minimum requirements of water reuse in the agricultural sector.
Now, we want to hear your opinion! The goal of the following survey on water reuse is to make young engineers in Europe aware of this important topic and to collect their opinions and expectations. We aim to define the position of young engineers and to represent them in discussions with European decision makers.
